‘Gotham’ star Adam West, David Bowie, and ‘Star Wars’ writer Carrie Fisher all inspired a tattoo for this year’s Vans Warped Tour
A group of tattoo artists in Seattle are using the latest wave of pop culture icons and famous people to make a lasting tribute to their favorite icons.
The “Warped Tour” event is being held in downtown Seattle on Aug. 3, and will feature performances from pop stars Jay Z, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, the National, Adele, Selena Gomez, and more.
It’s the first time since the festival kicked off last year that the artists involved in the event have collaborated on a project.
The artists include the popular tattoo artist, Vans artist, tattoo artist from Seattle, and “Star Wars” writer Carrie McCoy.
Vans’ Scott Jurek explained that the goal of the tour is to highlight a new artist each day.
“It’s a lot of work, so we’re kind of looking for new artists that we can bring in, and hopefully get to know,” Jureak told CNN.
“We’ve done it twice before with a couple of other artists, but we don’t want to do it with anyone who’s going to be dead, we want to get to the point where we’re really excited about this person.
The artists are also encouraging fans to come out and support the artists on social media and the event website.””
There are so many great artists on the roster, so hopefully we can get to a point where people will be talking about them and it will inspire people to do the same.”
The artists are also encouraging fans to come out and support the artists on social media and the event website.
“The goal of our artists is to give back and to support our artists and bring them the support they need,” Jivek said.
“They’re not just going to have a great day, they’re going for a whole life, and I think people want that.
I think that’s what this is about.”
